Born in Paris in 1977, Hot Yoga Ibiza founder, owner and director Sebastien Carincotte was first introduced to the concept of yoga by his theater school teacher as a child, however it was in 2006 in Ibiza that this passionate and dedicated yogi became truly committed to his practice after trying his first Bikram class.
Feeling a connection with this style of yoga, he went on to deepen his knowledge and practice in Hawaii on an extensive nine-week training course with Bikram Choudhury. Continually seeking more knowledge, and driven to deepen his own practice, Sebastien returned to Ibiza to open his own yoga studio, Hot Yoga Ibiza after adding an Ashtanga training and an additional advanced Bikram course to his list of qualifications.
In 2014, Sebastien had the opportunity to train with his current guru, Tony Sanchez, in Mexico, learning a new offshoot of the school’s lineage, CORE 40, which he then introduced to Ibiza.
Teaching with utmost respect to those on the mat before him, he is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to all things yoga, with a constant thirst to learn more. Sebastien believes strongly that yoga is not simply about the asanas you learn in class – it is something you live, that is with you every day. Encouraging students to listen to their own bodies, become their own gurus and seek their own truths, his classes are inspiring, motivational and transformational – the Hot Yoga Ibiza studio a testament to his commitment and dedication to his chosen path.
