Bikram Yoga
Bikram yoga is a demanding series of 26 postures (asanas) and two breathing exercices (pranayamas), which suitable for all ages and levels of ability, created by Bikram Choudhury in the 60’s. Bikram did grow the yoga in the western world. His first school in Beverlly hills was full of movies stars, singers, and athletes. Those famous people made his yoga famous around the world.
This wonderful sequence of poses is worked in a heated room around 40 degrees celsius and around 40% of humidity.
Each postures stretches and strenghens specific muscles, ligaments and joints in preparation for the next. They are designed to stimulates organs, glands, and nerves, moving fresh oxygenated blood to 100 percent of the body, restoring all systems to a healthy working order.
This 90 minutes program is widely reputed to deliver total health through the balancing and strengthening of every system in the body in order to prevent illness, injury, and limit the effects of aging.
In addition, the series of postures combine skills of concentration, patience, determination and self-control, which lead to increased mental clarity and reduced stress.
Regular practice of hot yoga method also improves body posture and spine alignement. It relieves back pains and headaches, reduces symptoms of chronic diseases such as – arthritis, diabetes, thiroide-improves body image, flexibility, balance and strength, all the while providing an overall feeling of wellness and peace.

Why the heat?
At the begining you might find that the heat, combined with intense excercise, is too much for you. You can always sit through a poses if necesary during the class. We recomand you to avoid leaving the room during the class so you can become acclimated to the heat. You will get used to the heat quickly. It will help your practice to progress, to prepare your muscles, like this you will work safer and deeper. And you will sweat a lot, that will clean your body of toxines.
What do I need to bring to class?
A mat a towel are mandatory (both available for rent in the studio), though we encourage you to buy your own mat. You will want to have a bottle of water too (both available for sale in the studio). And clothing that is light and comfortable (shorts, sports bra or light top for women, and swimming trunks for men) ideally something close to the body to allow better movement.
How much water should I drink?
Try to drink water throughout the day, especially before and after each yoga class. You are going to sweat and therefoe loose a lot of minerals that must be replaced. You may drink water during the class, but this will not be sufficient replacement of what is lost. Hydrating the body should be done throughout the day to be efficient. It is said that you must drink a MINIMUM OF 2 LITERS PER DAY to aid your body properly with its natural elimination process.
