Goodbye summer, hello yoga!
Without restaurants, bars, shops and parties, what else is there to do?
Summer in Ibiza has reached its end, a season that arrived very late and was gone too soon. Circumstances have meant that our favourite restaurants, beach clubs, hotels and shops have closed their doors early. It seems that even though the sun is still shining and the island is more beautiful than ever, without tourism – a sad situation which is beyond anyone’s control on the island – it’s just too difficult for them to maintain their businesses. Our hearts go out to all of our Ibiza friends who have done their best to make the most of this strange season, bringing happiness to those who did manage to travel.
You know what HASN’T closed its doors for the winter season however? Our Hot Yoga Ibiza studio here in Ibiza town! In the absence of work, play, eating out, shopping or swimming (the sun may be out but the water is getting cold!), not to mention travel, what else are you going to do for the next few months? There’s never been a better time for people in Ibiza to dive deep into a regular practice and feel the mental, physical, and spiritual benefits you read so much about, in their own real lives! We offer two classes a day from Monday to Friday, plus one class on Sunday (see our timetable here), in addition to private classes in the studio, online or even in your home if that’s something you’d prefer – and we’re open all year round.
The more you practice, the more you will achieve – and you’ll come to learn that yoga is not all about lifting your legs behind your head. A practice is exactly that – a practice, and each day we go a little bit further, a little bit deeper, try that little bit harder, until one day, you find the positions that were once so frustrating now feel within your grasp. The key to yoga is in the word ‘practice’ – you should never give up just because you’re not ‘perfect’. No one is perfect with their yoga practices – not even the great masters, because they understand that through our imperfections is where we learn more about ourselves.
The key to understanding yoga is that it is about connecting with yourself and with spirit – through breath, movement and meditation. We can teach you all of these tools here at Hot Yoga Ibiza, but it’s up to you to commit to the practice. We’re here to support you, through tough classes and fun classes, and it’s our aim to ensure you don’t give up. Over the past few months, the community that has returned to our studio are open-minded, positive, hard-working and friendly; they’re dedicated to having fun while deepening their knowledge of the practice and getting a little sweaty in the process!
